Two years doing this and still able to, when in a hurry, screw up.
Doh!

Definately. I had been told that keeping your alk higher helped with growth and then I was talking to someone about what they kept their tank at and they said 10. I thought wow that is higher than where I am at and voila! I am just thankful that the only thing I lost was product and not coral. Since I was dosing Seachem Reef Advantage though, when I realized the oops, my Ca was hanging out at 300 but my Mg was over 4000.

You should start dosing Ca. Your alk and Ca need to be in balance. With alk at 2.5 meq/l, you should be shooting for Ca above 400.

I'd be interested in knowing what happened to your alk after you dosed the Mg.

I know. That was back when I had the oops moment. I try for 440 Ca and 4 Alk and 1400 Mg. Strontium I dose but haven't tested.

Been a long time since I have updated pics, so here they are as of tonight. Good growth and color for now, but we have to tear it down because we are going to be moving in a month. So sad for it, but we will add pics again with its rebirth. Speaking of that, if anyone is really bored at the end of August and wants to help move the monster, feel free to let us know. I will buy beer and even fire up the grill! What a bargain huh?

Thanks guys. This would be the one thing I am above all dreading to move. For obvious reasons... I am hoping to get water pre made at other house for it though so that should help. Ultimately it should be sweet though. I am hoping to be able to plumb through the wall and have sump in storage room instead of under the tank. We will have an extra thousand sq ft to play with tanks in now!!! Yay! Paul right after I got that corner you were teasing me about cleaned up this move comes up. See what I get for tidying up?

Maybe you guys can give me some ideas on re rocking everything too. I have become somewhat annoyed with my rockwork. My plan to leave room for growth at the top was good, but I think I have left too much.

In light of something fragish on the 21st, we will shoot for the 28th to do the tear down and move of the 210 at least. I will try to get the other done prior.
