    Purple Helix question

So with the start of Mary's and my reef tanks I've been looking for LR for both tanks. Have looked at dry rock as being the safest choice and cheaper but it doesn't have the nice colorations. So I came apon a product called Purple Helix on eBay.......says it has Coraline Algea spores and nitrifying bacteria......

Was wondering if anyone on the board has ever had any experience with this product at all.

I haven't seen this but, it looks like a winner. I think I'll use this in my next setup.

It's about time somebody made something like this. With everyone using dry rock more and more it's a great idea to seed your new tank.

Well it's been almost two months since I last posted about getting a bottle of this stuff to try out and we'll......I haven't even noticed a tiny bit of Coraline growth anywhere in the tank.

Damn no difference? Your calcium alkalinity and mag must not b balanced because Iíve killed off coraline algae from moving tanks and had it rebound and covers the tank in 2 months without adding anything, i wondered if this was another snake oil, seemed too good to be true maybe itís nothing or maybe your levels are out of balance?!

I just tested again today like I have scheduled every week and my pH is 8.2, alk is 11, calcium is 425 and mag is 1340. Nitrates, nitrites and ammonia is 0. Nothing has ever gone too low. And I dose about 5ml Cal,alk n mag daily for my 40B.
