    Clam tragedy?

I have a very interesting clam, who has a bit of an attitude. today, I found him tipped over, tangled in some tonga branch. I touched him gently, and he came right up - but it looks like his foot didn't come with him He's upright and open now... is there any chance he'll survive? what can I do to help him? I'm pretty sick over it, he's such a cool clam

Clams eventually loose their foot. I've found them floating around the tank before wondering what the hell it was before I figured it out.

I think it will be fine. Some clams you can't keep from laying on their side.

My latest problem child I put inside a larger dead clam shell and now it cant tip over.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.

And remember you can always lead a horticulture, but you can't make her think.

If its a crocea, they are the toughest to keep alive for more than a couple years IME.
I gave up on them, so many different issues, they just seem to be a very demanding animal.

Thanks for the reassurance Tim He is indeed a crocea. I don't try to right them generally, but he was so tangled in the tonga branch I didn't think he could open properly. He looks OK but I'll keep an eye on him. I feel terrible about it
