Looks like it would probably work after reading the reviews about growing plants. In sure if it will grow a tomato it will grow algaes.

That's like what I have but I have a 54 watt version. It works great for a fuge light.

I use a 36w and have had good growth and ive been able to maintain 0 nitrates so I believe it is growing as fast as the nutrients allow.

How big is your fuge? All I run is a regular spiral CFL daylight spectrum. Way cheaper than those PAR bulbs. My fuge is 16x18 and about 12 deep.

I had good luck with a cfl as well. I ran a 100W cfl over my last fuge and it worked great... I went LED to keep in theme with the rest of my aquarium lighting.

Check out this video. Bulk Reef Supply did a comparison of CFL, LED Par bulb, and a Kessil grow light. This might help make a decision. Looks like more power equals significant increases in growth.

I know I get about a 5 gal bucket of chaeto every month. I do have stupidly high nitrates though so I can't say it's all just the light.
