I think its like 3/4 and 1/2 on that tank

Spa hose is by far the best and aligns perfectly with PVC. Its a little more expensive, but it doesn't require all of the adapters or clamps.
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/291931379659
This is braided flex hose from any big box home repair store. The braided mesh inside the hose keeps it nice and rigid, but will require adapters to PVC and auto clamps (or BRS sells a ratcheting plastic clamp that works well).

Oh lord, get bulkheads for hard PVC and plumb it like a man.

Agreed. I have three tanks of that brand and didnt use any of those bulkheads. Plastic is way to thin.

NOOOO. Your upper boards always have to rest ON the verticals otherwise it is only as strong as the screws you're using. 60 gallons times 8.6 pounds per gallon. Please don't risk it, those screws will corrode over time.

Agreed.
Lenny- look into a pocket jig. Think they are about 25 bucks at lowes. Or you can brace your uprights with two more 2x4s on each corner.

Add 2x4s in between the top and bottom for extra support
Ahhhh, I feel better now knowing this, now I'll be able to sleep.

Wait a second. Is this a 60 gallon cube build (24x24x24) or a 120 gallon 2x4x4?
Your stand is not very "cubish" bro.
