You are really making a sweet setup! I wish I could have the space and deliberate design you have going on.

Yea I basically built the basement for my tank setup. I still wish I had more room though, it's never enough!

Another big step today thanks to Jeff at Lifereef! I can't say enough how pleased I am with the first sump he built for me. This thing is built exactly how I wanted it and he even made a few improvements to make it even better. Anyone that has ever worked with Jeff knows the great customer service he provides for sure!

This is the first section of my sump to house the skimmer and socks. The sump is 32"x34"x21" and will hold about 90 gallons. It has 5, 1.5" drains, 7" filter socks or I can use some canisters I'm having him make (more on that later), and 3, 2" bulkheads to pass on to the main sump. It's a beast for sure!

Skimmer fits in it like a glove

The other sump will be done in a couple weeks and then the real work can finally begin to get this thing wet!

Well I got the other sump today! Here is a quick shot for now and I will take some better ones tomorrow. For reference the plywood it's sitting on is an 8' sheet. Total sump length is 101" and about 220 gallon capacity. I have to paint the back like the other one and then I can get this thing moved into position.

Well not as much as I really want, but close enough I suppose. I wish I could have gone even bigger on my tank but it just wouldn't have worked out with what I wanted to do.

Some more progress made. I got the skimmer sump stand matched up, foam in place and installed.

I also put the frag tank in its home. I will start plumbing up the RO and make water change tank this weekend.

I sill have quite a bit of finish work to do before I can get it going. I also need to build a shelf/lighting rack for the frag tank and figure out how to mount the Sea Swirls

I'm working hard at it when I can, believe me, it's all I do aside from work. I actually took this week off work with the sole purpose of working on my tank. I'm plumbing my water tanks together currently which is proving to be a pain. I will take some pics tomorrow of my current projects. I hope to have almost everything wrapped up by the end of the week...... hopefully. Probably still a month or so before it's totally running though.

All right guys here is a little update. I have been sick all week and not very productive and today I tried to throw my back out. But here is the fish room right now with stuff everywhere.

I have the water tanks setup and will finish plumbing them tomorrow. Lines run from RODI through the cabinets to the closet and then to and from the mixing tank.

Here are pics of the overflow drains, they are all 1.5" drains. Flow through the sump should be about 4000gph with everything tied in. The lowest is for the 60 cube that will be out front, the next is the secondary bean animal, and the one with the gate valve is the full siphon. These took several hours to get sloped just right and setup before I glued them, very tight space. The emergency drain will go direct to the fuge section straight in.

    More to come tomorrow.

Finally got all the plumbing for tank drains and between the two storage tanks done. I have to mount the RO and put the mixing/filling line in the mix tank by the wall still but that should be easy.

    RO tank

Here is a shot for the room layout so far. Still have to put the doors on the cabinets.
