I am really interested to see how that foam holds up over the long run...everything looks great!

I know the foam pieces I had that were about 2 years old did great. The hydraulic cement I used in my first build was the only thing I've seen fail. The pond foam, especially when coated with epoxy and sand seems pretty dang tough. When I was tearing out pieces, I was able to see the strength of the skin that was hardened and covered in coralline, and the texture underneath. I expect it to last longer than I will probably go before I decide to redo things for one reason or another!

Looking awesome Joe! Tank was really sweet in person as well. Now you just need to knock out that wall and make some room 😉

I have the skin on the stand. I'm going to use the lights that are currently above my bigger tank on this one when the new lights I have coming for the other one come in after about a week. Right now I have a light hanging over the center and held up by the two by fours you see.

Moving some stuff around in my other tank, I knocked over a big rock with a lot of SPS on it. I broke off about a years worth of growth of everything, and everything of some of the kinds, hence the ton of sticks on the frag rack in the shallow tank.

Looks good! Atleast you had somewhere to put them after they broke. What new lights are you getting for your big tank?

I have been very happy with the Photon Lights I have from Reefbreeders (Evergrow IT line but customized some my Logan), so I ordered the newer version of the Photons to run over the big tank. For me, the Photons have been really great bang for the buck, and I think the new version will be too. I got two 50" long ones to provide more coverage than I had with three 32" lights.

I have some of the frags over in the shallow reef and I'm dang near out of room. I managed to get all the frags our from my sump, so that is progress!

Video part two since it won't let me put two videos in one post.

Looks good Joe. Coral con is coming up and you could get a booth and thin some of them out.

Looking good Joe. So, with the foam vs. cement for the rock wall, I had a question. If you're epoxy coating the foam anyway, couldn't you do the same to cement? I worry about the float factor with the foam. If it pops off, it could take out a lot of things.

I don't know if I could get a full seal on the cement. After seeing the way it really crumbled into a fine powder, I don't want any of it in the tank again. With the way the foam is wedged in under my eurobracing, it really shouldn't come up. As it encrusts and I get corals placed on it, it gets heavier. I also have sand pushed up against the base that seems help hold it down. I like the foam because it lets me create depth by cutting out parts. I scoop out a lot of it inlaces and leave just a thin shell that is hardened by the epoxy and sand coating, then coralline.
