I currently have the 5 and I do like it, so the 7 is definitely an option. I've also looked at the aquamaxx cones q2

Nyos has been killer for me. I run a quantum 160, and a quantum 220. It was a big difference from other brands I've used (reef octopus, aqua medic).

The price is justified in my opinion.

LOL it looks like most of the name brand skimmers have been named, all with glowing compliments. I used a vertex 150 on my 120g and it was GREAT when it was tuned in correctly. Probably the most expensive, problematic skimmer to get setup and running consistenly that I have ever owned. I will not be buying another vertex, and will probably go with a Nyos.

I'm still rocking a lifereef venturi. I'll be adding to it to make it 5ft tall for my 300 upgrade. Old tech but a great skimmer imo

Yeah I can't say anything bad about lifereef. I do a water change twice a year and have only one cucumber for a cleanup crew besides that my skimmer is responsible for keeping my tank clean.
