    Heat sinks

So I may finally have some use for the heat sinks I scavenged from an old IT power cabinet. These guys are each 12" x 36" x 3 1/2" milled aluminum. I could probably put a few thousand watts of LEDs on these without a fan!

Ha! Not that I would need that many--maybe a couple hundred? I'm just illustrating how much aluminum and surface area these things have. They're big, and they're heavy. I'll weigh one tonight.

I got them from an old networking power rack from an auction at the university. Some of the power cables inside were a half inch in diameter, and I pulled out about 20 capacitors the size of tall beer cans.
