Rebuilding my reef starting with a 40 gallon Zero Edge

Reefing has been tough for me this year. I have lost 3/4 of all my corals. Sadly, mostly colonies of some beautiful and colorful SPS's. The result was due to my lack of maintenance and for not being available to correct the parameters when there is an Alk and/or PH spike. Life just got in the way of reefing. During this period, I graduated, found a job, bought a house, packed and moved, got married and went on our honeymoon, so wasn't a complete lost

I managed to set up the Zero Edge i got from BRudy just in time to save some corals. This is the tank that I absolutely love and saw it passed around the club a couple times before I get the chance to own it.

I wanted to set up this system independent from the 300DD with basement build that is in the work, so the set up is very simple. The filtration system includes a sump, a skimmer, and a home-made algae scrubber. A Reefkeeper Lite is used to control two Ocean Revive LED lights, and two BRS dosing pumps for Alk and Cal (currently not hook up yet). Also, if i can convince Mr. @Hooked to build me a nice ATO container, then i'll hook up the Tunze Nano ATO to somewhat automated this system.

The tank will mainly be stocked with LPS, but will also be my SPS quarantine tank. This tank will kick start my new reefing journey, and I will try to get a tank build thread for my 300DD going soon.

I'm building a new stand with some built-in overflow prevention functionality. This is mainly because when I'm lazy and didn't clean the sponge in the back of the tank, it overflowed and messed up my hardwood floor. So, the wife said it's either a different tank or do something about it.

I waterproof the stand by using a product called pond armor and went with some left over gray paint from repainting the house stairs.

The tank is being buffed starting with 800 grit sand paper in a up and down pattern, then 1200 grit side to side. I finished it off with novus 2, and the tank started to look new again.

I'm excited to set it up again. We'll see how long it will last this time.

I bought a used Prestige LED Gamma t5/led combo to go on this tank. T5/led is my favorite light combo, so I'm excited to see how this light will do.

I've read good things about these. Thought about using these over the frag flat. Let us know how it does for you

Swapping the Reeflo dart return pump for the varios 8 DC pump and will run it internally so I don't have to worry about leaking seal.

Thanks, I know I will need to do more maintenance on this tank, but I'm really excited to get it running again.

Aquascape done. Also, hooked up lights, return pump and controller. What do you think?

Looks good! I like the scape, should work well with corals and gives it good dimension too.
