With all the reading I've done I think this is going to be the light I go with for now. I'll be doing a full custom diy rig down the road.

I don't understand much about this stuff as I'm just getting started but I ordered these: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...245533&alt=web
And plan to have Doyle adjust the spectrum for me in the not too distant future. I'm very happy with them for now tho!

I considered those as well but they won't fit my hood.

I have the 24" pro. And it is good for the price and used it until I got the hydra 52 so depending on the depth and width of your tank it did grow corals.

Can you cut the top of the hood and make a lip for them to sit on? That's what I did.

You can see them sitting on top of the hood. I added a metal bar with latches for easy removal to hold them in place when I open the hood.

It is kinda hard to see but I just used a 1x2 to make the lip they sit on.

Nope. No space. I even used a tape measure to be sure.

I do like the way this looks, if I had the space up top with the existing hood i'd go for it!

I have that exact light. I have been running it on a 10g, and now a 20g. I would give it a 5. The remote is nice, you can do any setting you like. The ramping and moonlight are also nice. I don't bother with clouds and lightning. I think it freaks my fish out...lol. I prob would not buy again. It is under powered for corals I believe. I have an SB reef light (higher end **** box), and a Marsaqua that Doyle upgraded for me...both are great. The Current Orbit is pretty streamline, if that is what you are needing at this time.
