    Help found aptasia

Ive already lost my entire frag tank and now I've found them in my seahorse fuge and my display.
This may cause me to get out of the hobby all togeather. So frustrated right now.

A few months ago I had an aptasia problem. Got a few peppermint shrimp from bush and within 2 days they were all gone. Haven't seen any since.

Tim, easy remedy, Matted Filefish. Mine eat the Aptasia and they also eat flake and frozen.

Everytime ive added peps they dissappear within a few weeks. I've heard mixed stories on file fish. I'm happy that you had a good experience though.

Have not seen either one picking. I am wondering if they got the rep because people saw them pick at the edge of the coral when they were going after baby Aptasia?

My biggest issue right now is that I just finished curing 150lb of rock and loaded it into the sump. What a waste.

Some Hawkfish will eat peppermints. I'm not seeing why the rock in the sump is a waste? Just throw a couple peps in the sump too. The aptasia in our 180 version 1 got bad because the trigger ate all the shrimp. A handful of shrimp keep our other tanks clean.

I wish my peppermints would eat the aiptasia - but I don't think they are 'cause I keep getting more 'n more aiptasia instead of it disappearing which tells me the peps are eating something else.

Filefish are great and you only have to worry if you have a nem in the tank. The one I had loaned to JJ never nipped at a nem or coral. I wouldn't be hesitant to get a matted filefish and will have one for sure in my 120g when it's up and running. Was thinking about trying to add a pair of them.

And I will have a sunburst in my 120g if that helps ease your mind.

Someone on MASC posted not long ago that they have peps with a taste for aptasia. I wonder if my 6line wrasse will harass them.
