    80 gallon shallow reef build

I have to start this build thread by thanking penrosereefer, Slater and sweat for their help and courtesy over the last week and a half. As some of you know, my cube popped a seam a week from Saturday. Penrose reefer came over at 7 a.m., from work, got all my livestock and is currently housing it in his tank. Thank you so much Adam. Slater gave me a 90 gallon reef ready tank and stand, for free (thank you to static as well, this is a dbtc tank he offered to the club). I got the 90 set up with plans of getting in on the next group buy for the frag tanks. I'm in on the buy, but I asked sweat if I could take his tank and then when mine came in April he could get mine. He was down with that, so now I'm starting my build. I started building the stand yesterday. Here is what I have so far.

Great to hear it's coming along. If you want some pods to add to it when you get it set up, I'll give you a bottle to seed the tank.

I had the welding shop make me these arms to hang the lights from. It's almost ready to be filled.

Here's a little about the tank. I will be using an 8 bulb t5 fixture with ati bulbs. For circulation I have two wp10s and two jbj oceanstream 500 gph pumps. For my return I am using a quietone 3000 pump. I have a 20 gallon sump/fuge. The skimmer I will be running is the aquamaxx hob-1.

The tank has cleared up nicely. Here is a video of the powerheads in action. This tank should be ideal for sps

nice looking set up. By the way, it looks like you went a slightly different way with the stand than the standard 2x4 frame. can you give us more details on how you built it?
