    Leds for fresh water plants

    so I have 40 breeder I'm going to set up as fresh water plant tank and want to do LED instead of t5"s so guess my question is will one of these do ok for my tank or would I need 2 http://www.ebay.com/itm/EVO-36-6500K...item461edc0043 I will be running c02 and have some of the higher light plants under gravel heater cables. thanks for your in put

    so no one knows ? do plant tanks need 3watts per gallon like reef ??

    Depends on the plants. I have a half planted half fake fresh tank it has mostly anubias and java fern. Only light it has is cheap 30 marineland 10 in led on 29

    But I know there are many plants that require more light like baby tears. When I was getting into planted tanks I really relied on plantedtank.Net good forum.

    Which plants? What's your substrate going to be?

    Do you know the PAR values for the light for the depth they're going to be planted at?
