Now this is an office tank worthy of being posted. I knew you were eventually getting discus and it speaks volumes that you waited so long to get them.

Thanks. I really wanted to get the water/plants and filtration locked in before adding the 'crown' fish to the tank so to speak. I think these are the final fish that are going into the tank, and here on out will just be plant tweaks and what not as necessary.

Just picked them up from two local fish keepers who had to break down their tank for whatever reason.

That giant blue one was *way* bigger than I was expecting, and absolutely gorgeous. I'm going to borrow a real camera in the next few days to take some proper photos. A cell phone camera's pinhole lens doesn't do them justice.

Shot from this morning. Had spent the last three days combatting slightly cloudy water after a water change. Turned out the tap TDS had gone from 60 to 200, then back down again. Something in there made the bacteria in the water column happy.

Also took a fun video of the freshwater puffer hunting for snails.

Side shot of the full tank. I haven't cleaned the glass on this side in at least three months. Still not too bad.

So last week someone decided to break into our office by throwing a rock through one of the exterior windows.

It was cold as hell out that night, and when I came into the office the next morning, the temps on the various tanks were way below what they should have been and the office was about 45.

The blue snakeskin discus wasn't looking to hot after that day, his coloration and behavior were just off.

Yesterday we had a 4 hour power outage.

Came in today, and he's basically listless. An hour later, he's dead.

Checked all the water parameters and everything was still looking good. I'd guess the stress was too much and killed him, but I'm still a bit bummed today. He was the king of the tank and always showing off for the clients in the waiting room. He'll be missed.
