    shrimp eating fish please ?

I am looking for a good fish that will eat peppermint shrimp with a ferocious diet but will leave nems and urchins alone.

Ok let me get back with you about that, I need to verify that I can catch them all. There is like 10 in the tank and its not worth losing a sunburst nem over. I watched them picking at a rainbow nem last night so I have to do something tonight to get them out without destroying the rock work.

For the couple weeks I had the bottle trap in there I came home every night to my stupid pepps in the trap. I'll take 'em if you can catch 'em.

If you don't mind risking killing the peppermints, a siphon hose (3/4") into a bucket or a net in your sump works. The risk is it's too rough a trip for them, but it works.

Some wrasses will eat them also. Non reef safe. My melanurus ate all my white hermits and pregnant peppermint.

Is your Melanaurus not reef safe?

Just remember that whatever eats your shrimp will most likely eat hermit crabs as well.

I've always wanted a Flame Hawkfish but I like shrimp too much to have one.

Mine hasn't picked on smaller crabs and my two other cleaner shrimps. One peppermint is still alive because its in a small cave. He leaves all my other creatures alone in the tank

I have had 4 seperate flame hawks in 4 different tanks, all with shrimp and never lost a shrimp to the hawk. I feed twice a day and I'm a heavy feeder so maybe that is why. Also had an arc eye hawkfish and no lost shrimp.
