    Indian black trigger sick

So I was out of tone the last 48 hrs and came back to my trigger not looking so hot in qt. definitely looks like a massive ich outbreak and possibly something else. Anyone have any ideas on what it is and treatment? Thanks. Fish has been eating well and parameters are good. He has been in qt for 12 days.

    Thanks

I can't see any ich spots in the pic? What meds have you been using in quarantine?

Para guard by seachem. I know it's hard to get a decent pic. He normally has a green/black tint to him. Looks like a powder white film on him with the blotching

Might that just be him shedding his mucus in an attempt to help stave off infection? Any other fish in there with him? Rocks he could have scraped himself on?

No other fish in there. There are a few rocks in there but It doesn't appear to be a gash like he scraped himself. I've never seen this before. I've heard of marine velvet but never seem it before. Is it out of the question?

Well he made it through the night which surprised me, but he looks awful. I have prazipro on hand. Would that be more effective than the para guard?

You can do both at the same time. Still eating? Still breathing normal? Soaking his food in garlic?

Yes I fed him last night and he ate. Breathing seems a little labored, just very lethargic. Not swimming around active like triggers normally do. I am soaking his food in garlic and have been putting some in the tank as well. Just so weird that he looked so Good Friday morning and so bad by Sunday afternoon

Water change a large portion and ride the wave. Def sees to be an infection. If you havent already, you canadd anothe small circulation pump to keep him swimming aggresively and building an appetite

Paraguard is for Ich, do you even know if your fish has it or not? Parazipro is for internal parisites, have you been dosing your fish with this already? How big is the QT tank? From what I am reading in searches, most are saying stress is the issue.

He definitely has ich, it's hard to get a good pic of it as his entire body has a white film on it. It's a 40 gallon qt. I dosed the prazipro this morning just in case it was an internal issue that has finally made its way out. Only stress he should have had is not eating since Friday morning but I've never seen a fish freak out like this because of that.

Water parameters are 78 degrees. Nitrate <10, nitrite 0. Sg of 1.022

    What about ammonia?

I didn't check that, I will when I get home tonight. I didn't think it would be an issue in a qt tank running for 6 months but I will check it

So couldn't get a test kit because seascape has hours worse than bankers. Did a 50% water change. Was still eating last night.

Came down this morning and not lookin so good. Fins are now appearing to rot and he's having trouble staying horizontal. Doubt he's here when I get home from work. Pics from this morning are below

My question is what do I do with the qt if he doesn't make it? Do I need to empty the tank out for a few weeks and try to kill off whatever is going on? I just don't see how ammonia could be the problem in a qt with one fish? There isn't excess waste/food in the tank. Is there another way ammonia can be produced? I use rodi water so I know that isn't the issue.

Just frustrated, really liked the fish and hate seeing it appearing to suffer.
