Anyone have Rotifers, Green Water, etc. or know where to buy?

My clown just laid eggs last night and I'm scrambling to setup a breeding system before my 16 year-old daughter calls me a meany for not trying ;-)

Anyone have live rotifers, green water, etc. or know where to buy locally? I can order from Reed Mariculture but with the weekend I'm pushing it time wise.

I have a rotifer and pod mix. I don't have live phyto, I use some stuff from reed mariculture to feed them.

Joe keeps a nice supply of pods ready! And the stuff from Reed Mariculture/APBreed is amazing stuff, you can keep it cold in the fridge.

Hey Joe, I've read up on this a bunch but have never done it. If I obtain some pods from you and a bit of the food could I get the rotifers multiplying until I can order some more of the food from Reed?

If so, please PM me on when I can come by, price and where you're located and thanks for any and all help!

Just my 2 cents from when we did this a while back. You'll need rotifers for the first week, they won't be able to take pods right away. It'll take 8-10 until they hatch depending on temperature so you might have a couple days. Pods will double about every day or so. A commercial order from reef mariculture split into 2 5gallon buckets will maintain a large enough culture. I also highly recommend using rg complete or other condensed phyto. Rotifers eat so much it'll be hard to culture enough phyto. I've got pods and phyto, but definitely make sure you get some rotifers and condensed stuff.

    Yes I mind! ;-)

I just snapped a few pics for you replete with my algae and cyno problem. No idea if these are true or false percula (and never really cared). She's on the right, he's black and white and tending the eggs. I've had them around three years now and if they've spawned before I never noticed it. The clutch seems rather small from photos I've seen but I haven't researched it much. I think I bought them both at Petco and I think they're aquacultured from ORA. I've heard the offspring would be called Mocha's.

I'll just loan you some to get you going. The rotifers aren't as dense as they were before I went on the road for a few days recently, but it should get you by. PM coming.

Those are some sexy clowns you have! Nice algae too! Thanks for the pics, I have 6 breeding pairs of clowns all either laying or trying to lay, I just haven't tried to raise the babies yet.
