    180g build kio 4.0

So, I bought the 180g from Kutcha. Also got a 75g for QT. Well tonight me and Levi (mostly Levi) set up the plumbing for the 75g QT. Won't see water till tomorrow, but it's a start.

Yep. Running hypo, so helps with bacteria.

Yes ++ not sure why everyone thinks sand or rock is bad outside of doing full copper in QT. For hypo it saves a TON of money as you aren't doing water changes daily because there is not enough surface area for bacteria to live on. After a full treatment I would recommend emptying out the water and filling with freshwater and some bleach at about 4% to kill anything left. Then rinse a few 100% freshwater changes and dry the sand in sun to get bleach out and back to saltwater. Maybe slightly more work but way less cost. Either that or running some sort of large canister filters etc and running a copper qt.

My sand question was regarding copper. More and more people are prooving that hypo is not a gurantee. Granted copper is really hard on fish as well. Hence my question.

Qt is smart either way. It looks killer. I am thinking about plumbing in a coral qt to rid the system of unwanted pests (bugs, aptasia, bubble algae etc.) Well worth the money to save our precious little buddies

Agree it may appear proof that hypo doesn't work BUT the method of hypo freedom proved works and I have seen work requires stable water and an ato to maintain stable salinity. The failed cases have not followed these methods that are proven to work.

Got some seeded LR and filter floss last night from Levi. I'll get a pic later. Cycle has begun.
