    A little woodworking

I haven't been able to get at it like I want. I've spent most of my free time either fixing up this foreclosure or on the fish tanks. That being said my first hobby has been wood working. Still getting my shop/garage fixed up so no really recent projects but here are some of the ones from the past.

Anyways, anyone out there who does some carpentry or want to talk carpentry feel free to hit me up.

    Pair of maple longboards:

Unfinished walnut rocking chair (once I get my shop back, the wife gets her chair finished)

    Oak crib for the kiddos:

And finally a fish related one, quick walnut tank stand I threw together:

Looks good. I have a lot of tools I got from my father and haven't really set up yet. I'll have a third of my garage set up with a long bench, table saw, drill press, air tools, and a lot of other stuff. When it's set, I'll probably be in for some discussion about projects.

The principles for a long board or other skate board are the same. I resaw maple plys and vaccum press them over a contoured mold. These were 6 plys. The character for my brother's board was a character he drew (he's an artist), I just traced with carbon paper and followed with wood burner to transfer it to the bottom of the board. Baseball, if you want to give it a shot i'd be happy to tell you what little i know if you wanted to do it on your own.. Here's a write up on the full build if you like to read.

That is a really cool process man. I cannot believe the quality in those boards. If you ever have time when I get back from Texas, I want one. Those boards look amazing. How does your brother like them?

I'd like to see how you set your shop up. I'm trying to figure out how to cram all of my stuff in the garage and still be functional.
