    What clowns should I breed?

I am going to buy 4 more pairs of clowns and start breeding.

Currently I have a pair of midnights, female is 100% black and male has a light black/orange patch near tail but the rest is all black and should become all black as he matures. He is actually not sexually mature yet and I believe he will be all black when he fully matures.

I also have a sexually immature pair of black ice clowns

    http://www.orafarm.com/products/fish...ice-snowflake/

I am thinking about buying this WYSIWYG wyoming white as I like the markings

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIVE-CLOWNFI...item2a3956b2b7

then finding another to pair it with that I like the markings of.

I also want to buy a pair of ORA naked clowns to breed

    http://www.orafarm.com/products/fish/clowns/naked/

    Also ORA premium black snowflakes

    http://www.orafarm.com/products/fish...ack-snowflake/

and last but not least ORA premium picassos

    http://www.orafarm.com/products/fish...emium-picasso/

The breeding setup I am in the process of building will house 6 breeding pairs with individual 20g tanks and 8 20g tanks for staging grow out. I will use a 125g sump for this setup and plumb them all together.

I will also have a 75g or a 90g plumbed into the sump as the final holding area for stock that are sellable size.

I am planning to build the sump so that I can stock it jam packed full with LR and run sandy bottoms in all tanks. I also will buy a skimmer that is able to support this system.

I just need advice as to what people would like to see being bred locally. I know the local market cannot sustain a full blown breeding operation but discovering interest will help decide what pairs I will start breeding. The hope is I learn a lot about breeding and raising fry in the process and learn a new aspect of the hobby I enjoy. I could care less if I turn a profit as this is a project for me in conjunction with everything else lol.

    Thoughts?

Any reason why you're looking ORA as a named fish. If you breed them, the spawns they're no longer ORA ya know.

basic concept for breeding tanks, might use 10g tanks instead of 20g tanks to fit a few more in, the wall I am working with is 13' and I am going to do 2 rows with the bottom a sump just like the picture.

I googled the pics to give people an idea of what I want to breed and get ideas on maybe replacing something with something else. I will have room for 6 pairs total. I plan to take WW and snowflakes and make frostbite for my 7th pair and for my 8th see what happens with naked orange and midnight.... would be cool to get black with orange tips on the fins and I could call it a orange ninja. Also I can keep the black ice pair I have in my DT and that frees up another spot for a different pair. If that happens I would not be breeding the black ice as I dont have the patience to deal with trying to collect fry out of a reef tank. They will just be free fish food.

I also thought about trying to breed mandarins as growing pods in this large of a system will be super easy. I might add on a 40g breeder and plumb it into the 125g sump and use it exclusively as a fuge for pod production for the mandarins. Maybe just use the fuge as the breeding tank for the mandarins who knows.

I really like the buckshot, that would be a good replacement for the black Ice I have and then I do like the deception as well, pink/blue is awesome.

    i also like darkside

so I guess I would go with Wyoming white, darkside, deception, naked, midnight, premium black snowflakes, buckshot, saving last breeding tank for frostbite.

Had to put this entire thing on hold as we moved. I will still be looking to do this when I am able to have more free time. I have access to a pair of bali aquarich picassos that are a mated pair so I will try my hand at raising their babies eventually just to see how to tweak the process and to bring better quality clowns to market with a lower price.

Right on. I have a batch hatching in the next 2 days. My rotifer culture is light so I am trying 3 sizes of golden perils.

Always thought it would be cool to try breeding but my fear is what if you can't get rid of them?

You wind up with the runt of the batch swimming around in your frag tank for all time

Levi, if you ever get around to it, I'm sure there are plenty of people around who would appreciate getting ahold of some Lightning Maroons...

Not enough room in this apartment at this time but I may have space to do a small breeding setup here in a few months.
