    Wth.....

So for the life of me I can't figure out what the hell is going on with my tank. All my levels read 0ppm so I shouldn't have an issue with algae. I've been dosing the 2.5ml of HP since I last had a cyno issue. So on Monday I read up on Vodka dosing. Said to start off with .1ml until you see affects on corals like closing up and so forth. So today i'm at 1ml and will back down .2ml. But i'm wondering what the hell this stuff is....is it red slime algae? Am due for a 10% water change on weds.

It covers all my corals and i've noticed the tips of my Ponape are pretty much dead, my other bird nest has a few bald spots from where this stuff is getting caught on it. One side of my Orange digi is also bald.

Looks like cyano again. I'd stop trying to treat the algae and treat the cause. Rinse your frozen food before feeding. Youre going to end up doing to much and wiping everything out as soon as you think everything is good. Skim heavier, shorten light timeframe, rinse food, water change to remove excess nutrients and more flow. Use a filter sock to catch excess food before it can hit your fuge and fester.

I've had red and Brown. This looks like Brown which is thinner and more wide spread in my experience. Feed less if possible. A little more "wet" skim seems to help pull it out faster. Turn your lights down a little and if you're changing h2o twice a month maybe go up to weekly for a while. What do you have turning your sand?

I feed once daily and just enough to where the fish eat it all up. I'll change the lighting schedule by 2hrs.....but my blues are at 100% for 2hrs and whites at 25% for 2hrs during my 1200-1400 peak time. Like I said all my tests for Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate and Phosphates show 0ppm and I checked 3 times today. I don't have a sandsifting star if thats what your asking...so nothing is turning the sandbed really.

Cut that 100 back to 75/80% and leave time the same. It's intensity not length I believe.

Also it may be worth putting something in that sand to sort of keep it turned. I had a star and killed it moving rocks which caused a little outbreak. Another member later gave me a horseshoe crab. He wrecks anything in the sand but he is fantastic for turning sand.

Your nitrates and phosphates will test 0 or close to as the algae is consuming it. Try rinsing your food. That will lessen the phosphates you put in directly.

So many words of "quality" could fit there delta. Would you care to add a less offensive yet equivalent word? Would you like to buy a vowel? (Bush is a food rinser, bush is a food rinser)
