    Dwarf lion fish

I picked one up recently and put him in my display. I have always wanted one but was always weary of trying one in a reef tank. Well I finally decided to try it out. He hasn't eaten yet, that I know of, but seems interested in food.

Anybody have any tips for getting this guy to eat?

I'm pretty sure he will eat once he gets more comfortable with the tank. Just in case though, anybody have any experience?

He was already eating krill and plankton cubes prior to being here... Trying to skip live foods all together but I guess I will if I have to...

I use 2 put silver side or pieces of shrimp or krill on a feeder stick and move it in front of mine 2 entice him to eat worked well never fed him live after he got use 2 it he would swim 2 front of the tank when he saw the stick feed him 2 or 3 times a week small amounts.

Mine took about 2 weeks to eat off tweezers. Once he learned that, he would actually compete with the other fish and never went hungry. They are very cool fish.

Have you tried a feeding wand? I have one and can bring it by when I get the tanks.

Nice I will give those a shot and see what happens. Very eager to get this guy to eat.

Kio, no I haven't tried one and wouldn't be opposed to at least testing it out.. Thanks.

So far, still no signs of him eating anything. He will follow pieces of Mysis shrimp, krill, and brine but will not actually eat it... I'm hoping that is a good sign that he will eventually take part in it...

Seascape actually... Was hesitant at first but impulse got the better of me.

I saw him eat the krill and plankton cubes while I was there

    Update...

Well I've seen him pick up a couple tiny pieces of brine and Mysis during broadcast feeding but not enough to where I am comfortable yet. No luck with individual feeding yet. I've tried the feeding wand with silversides and krill but no such luck. I'm hoping since he's at least picking at stuff it's a good sign he will start eating well soon...

The only thing I ever saw mine eat was live bait shrimp. I quit feeding those and he lived about four months eating something before I sold him. I don't know if he was eating silverside pieces or dried krill pieces that made it behind the rocks where he hid most of the day or not. Well, he must have been because that's what I fed the tank.
Don't look here for a comment.

That's what I'm assuming mine is doing now since he hasn't starved yet and doesn't look too skinny...
