I thought I only had to help make it look good and keep the water topped off, water testing was not in my copy of the contract lol

I can't believe you're not trying to find a way to live there. I've been to Kona 3 times, Honolulu once, and Kauai once. I never spent less than 2-3 hours snorkeling the reefs and tide pools every day--sometimes twice a day. I'd only come out of the water to drink, eat, or get over being seasick from the salt, sun and waves.

I'd be living there now if I could find a systems engineering job there. I start my new job with Honeywell next week, for which I'm extremely thankful, but the Big Island still calls me.

    Someday...

    Sorry for the thread hijack...

It's definitely a relief. I haven't formally accepted the offer yet but yes, I'll be a Honeywell employee working on the Air Force Satellite Control Network Contract soon. I have to pass the pee test first, so I'll be studying for it all weekend.

On the other hand, Raytheon-Solipsys wants to fly me out to Maryland for a final face-to-face meeting next week. I've had telephone interviews with them this week regarding a principal engineer position for a NATO project. I'm just not thrilled about moving away from my daughters at this point, and the thought of packing, loading and moving all my junk makes me ill. So after receiving the Honeywell offer I politely told Raytheon "fugeddaboudit."

    So let's talk about tanks...

Did my rock work last evening. Now waiting for the dust to settle so I can post some pics. And maybe fine tune the aquascape.

The ammonia has dropped. Nitrites and Nitrates are off the scale yet. Starting to show diatoms on the rocks.

Thanks, I just envisioned what I want to place in there. then made a place for it. I still have some arches to put in tonight. Just waiting for epoxy to dry.

I bought it that way a few years ago.

Most of it has rods. I got tired of drilling so I epoxied the rest.

Well it's been a month and two days. My levels are all back to zero. Just in time for me to leave town for a week. Bummer! Guess I will let it cook for another week.

After loosing some fish to ick. Then letting the tank go fishless for two months. It is time for an update.
Added a few chromis to make sure everything is ok. All along I've been placing corals that I saved from the crash, back in. It has taken 4 months to get to this point. I follow the rule that "Nothing good happens fast".

Glad to see its on its way again, Doyle. What's the plans so far? Exotic fish less expensive coral, vise versa, classic reef?
