so i got a sweet frag of duncans last night that has about 8 heads on it. It opened up as soon as i placed it in the tank and looks amazing!!! Here is my question......

is it ok to keep them on the sand or do they prefer to be on the rock work?? I do plan on feeding them once a week and i already know about the flow and lighting, but i have been reading that they don't like the sand bed. Is this true???

I never had problems with mine on the sand. I moved mine to a rock when I did some aquascaping and I haven't noticed any difference. That's jme though.

I spot fed the duncans in my last tank with mysis. They ate it up.

Nope, just feed the tank.

I don't go out of my way to spot feed it but, if there's a lil left over in my turkey baster from spot feeding everything else... I give them a dose and they don't seem to mind it at all.

I spot feed raw peeled shrimp twice a week usually (but only on days I don't feed the nems or dendros - too much raw shrimp for my little skimmer)

I have a Duncan that had 3 heads when I got it. It has been on the substrate the whole time and has well over 50 heads on it now. I never spot feed it.
