I hung an Evolution LED over my54 corner tank in my office today. On my inwall I have no noise concerns with the Evolutions. Trying to work in my office with zero ambient noise I've realized just how noisy these puppys are.

1. Can I upgrade the fans to something more quiet? Is that a reasonable option?

2.Could I build my own LED set up with a large heat sink and not have any fans?

3.If fan less is not an option, I could still build my own with a quiet fan to fix the problem.

Let me know what my options are here. I have no idea how to build my own so how hard is it?

Swapping fans would be easy, but as soon as you open the case the warranty will void. :( You'll have to tell me if they are louder than my current ones Lance... Not sure I want any more fan noise. :(

glad you said it ...i didn't want to be the one ...lol

but i think some quality fans with good bearings would solve the issue ....thats what i plan on doing anyhow

Mine are behind the wall and I hear the wavebox more than I do the fans. If you get rid of it, Lance LMK.

I have tinnitus so I hear stuff all the time anyway.
