I bought the new hexarc 14k today hopefully it takes care of my algae problem since it isn't white like the oddysea bulb I had. Crossing my fingers. If I still get this algae problem I might need someone to come take a look at it 4 me.

You are probably going to have algae growth due to lack of CUC, and probably some nutrient export/ consumption issues, also I would shorten the photo period or raise the light as the new bulb could damage coral with dramatic change in spectrum. I have a blog that may help you;

Good luck!

Mexican Red Legged hermits are the bomb! The are even reported to eat Aptasia and cyano. I am finally over my cyano issues, after almost a year!!!

My Hawaiian pink pantied trigger doesn't mess with the hermies or snails, just shrimp.

well i left my light on from 830am this morning and i got home @ 330 and there was still algae :( not as bad but i cleaned most of it off. i know if you dont get rid of it no matter what it will still be there even with a new light. so off with the lights.

lots of threads about Vodka and VsV dosing. They even have beads you can buy now so you don't have to dump Vodka in the tank.
