I got new bulbs and wondered how I should acclimate the corals to them. Is there a rule of thumb on this?

Are you changing your spectrum or just new bulbs? With new bulbs I just cut back the exposure time and gradually ramp it up.

Same bulbs. Give me an idea of what you do.

I changed bulbs and went fro 150w to 250w. I just went from 8 hours to 4 hours and picked up an hour every few days. I would think for you 2 hours woul dbe plenty. I only run mine 7 hours now, I will probably just go back to 6 when I replace mine soon.

You have Phoenix right?

I cut back my time, Lance. I'd just cut back a couple of hours and then work up in 15-30 minute increments. The change you are doing is not as bad as completely changing spectrum's.

What do you do for spectrum change?

If you are going up to a higher par bulb you really need to drop the exposure time to your corals IE. 20K to a 12K bulb. If you are going the other way (12K to 20K) then you don't really need to do anything as you are exposing your corals to less par than they were receiving before, in most cases. T5-MH you should know what your par was before and what your par is with the new bublbs and adjust form there.
