Would a 4 bulb 54watt per bulb light fixture be enough to keep SPS, Clams and Anemones on a standard 75 gallon?

Depends on the ballast... With an IC660, I don't see why not.

I was looking at purchasing an Aquatic Life fixture 48", would that work?

Ken is selling that same fixture and running it on a 55g, but not sure if it would be wide enough for a 75... If the SPS and clams were up high enough, it would probably be fine.

Yea, thats the one I was thinking about purchasing. Thanks for the advice.

I'd go with a 6 bulb on a 75g because of the width. You'll get much better coverage.

I tried a Tek 4 bulb on my 40g which is the same width and it wasn't near enough light for me.

If you have a 4 bulb unit with good reflectors running on a icecap it is more than enough. From the pictures I looked at Ken's Aquatic life does not have single lens reflectors, the key to great output. Therefore I do not think this would be enough light for a 75.

BTW: I am using 4 Icecap bulbs running on an Icecap 660 ballast with Aquatinic SLR reflectors. I get a par of about 200 in the sandbed. More than enough for a 75.

A good mesure from what Ive read is, I beleive, 5-8 watts per gallon for SPS, anenomes, clams, etc.

Four bulb on 65 was not enough for bubble tips.

Also I think you'll be much happier with a 6 bulb in the end as you'll have a much easier time getting the color you like. Only so much you can do with 4, and although it's only two more it really seemed to get me to that perfect spectrum.

This is out of date with the new lighting such as T5 and LED.

My bubble tip is doing just fine (5 years) in my 75 with 4 T5 bulbs. It all has do do with par and a good T5 4 bulb setup will put out enough par to raise anything you want.

anemone's dont need strong light. They need medium light, so it makes sense 4 t5's are enough on a 75 or a 55 with good reflectors.

6 good lamps in good reflectors would be my first choice but like Freddie said, 4 on the Ice Cap will work good too, 4 lamps in cheesy reflectors ain't gonna cut it.
