Anyone else use thier bulbs? I am now on my second set of bulbs from them and I have been really happy. I am currently using 20k DE 150w bulbs. I just picked up new 2 coralvue 175 w ballasts with reflectors for an amazing price and I plan on buying another set of bulbs from these guys. The latest shipment I have a bulb that is slightly lighter than the other, and they have already offered to exchange it, but recommend i allow the bulbs to run 100 hours to allow them to complete the burn in. I ran my last bulbs about 10 months and they worked great but they did loose thier color that i could see after about 9. All their bulbs used to be guaranteed for spectrum for 6 mos but i guess that has changed.

As far as pricing, most bulbs are around 30 to 35$. I paid 59.90 shipped for 2 bulbs (on ebay). Their single end bulbs are about the same price for 175w 20k.

for anyone interested

Dwain, Have you compared the bulbs side by side with other MH bulbs?

I had a set of hamilton 150de 20k's that were from a friends tank. Side by side they looked about the same. I took par numbers with the new bulbs, and if I remember correctly, I was getting over 250par on the sand in a few spots. There arent many people who use 150w de bulbs on this board that I have found so its hard to do a comparison, but i have been trying. I also have what i was told is a phoenix 14k bulb that had about 4 mos use on it that I compared mine to and mine is definately a deeper blue. As far as quality, they all look very similar. when i get my 175's i think it will be easier to do a comparison. more people seem to use se bulbs.

I use their 20k 150 watt bulbs (2) and I really like them. I don't keep sps but I can tell you that since these bulbs were added my chalice growth has been noticeably great. I am about to replace them since they are older than 6 months now and will buy from them again.

I was looking at their site and ebay and they claim 10K hours as normal bulb life. 8 hours a day x 7 days is only 56 hours. At 8 hours a day, 1250 days = 10K hours. That is almost 4 years of bulb life, according to the ebay web site.

*Brand New in the Box warranted. Average life is 10,000 hours, Single end mogul base bulbs, +/-45 degree Burn Position*

That's 10k hours until the bulb actually burns out, right?

That is what I am taking from what they say, but they only warranty the bulb and spectrum for 6 months.

if you read on their site they plainly tell you that a bulb will last many more hours than the spectrum life. I think all of us know bulbs are only good for about 6 mos after spectrum changes. I guess i dont understand what the big deal is.

Normally a bulb (lamp) will burn for much longer than its spectrum output lasts. We warrant all bulbs (lamps) for ninety days. The warranty is offered to the original purchaser. The warranty is against defects in material and workmanship.
