So I just glanced at a used ATB small out of curiousity, and 24 hrs later I was giving my credit card to Warner Marine. I wasn't even in the market.

So I always thought MAYBE my BK Mini 160 was a little small on my 90g. I think it was just skimmer envy. So the ATB small was not going to be that much of a change. The Med and others were too big. The K2 was 50% more than what I had. WM had a blem left. So I got it for $625 to my door. Can't find the blem.

So there they were. The K2 took more room in my sump than I figured, but it fit.

Here is some gratuitous skimmate porn after it was broke in and 5 days.

So the skimmer is built well. The screw lock on the cup is VERY smooth and a positive seal. Not as easy as the BK, but nice. The gate valve has a huge range of precise adjustment. Not sticky or tight and you can put the water level exactly where you want it. There is hardly any turbulence at all. Not sure how much is the cone and how much is there top secret super bubble ring design. All I can say is it is just a uniform foam head moving up. I do have some micro bubbles, but I'm told that will clear up. Does not bother me or by bubble traps.

I have been having an issue with the pump. Was noisy at first, but quieted down. Then the air draw changed and is not up to spec. Jon from WM has been working with me to figure it out, but we are both puzzled. He sent me a new impeller, but nothing. Tomorrow I should be getting a whole new pump.

All in all I'm very happy. So far, I'm not quite sure if I bought better performance, or just more head room. We will see when we get the air ironed out. Been very happy with everything else. The customer service from Jon is 100% top notch. Great U.S. manufacturer to deal with.

So everything got worked out. Jon sent me a new venturi and everything is good. Not sure what the issue was, but I don't care now. It's been doing 900 lph, and running good.

Warner just said they started shipping out new pin wheels to owners. It pulls more air. Can't wait to get it. Should be this week.

It may be me but your skimmer looks like it's not very level. It could also be the way the camera is being held. That said I have heard of issues with skimmers not be level. It is possible if you leveled it you might get even better proformance from it. Again It may be my eyes

It's just the pic, it is very level. On a good stand. I always wondered about my last one because of the soft feet, but not the case with this one. Thanks though for saying so.

So after some time.... I have been a goose chase. I got the red pin wheel WM put out... less than stellar numbers. Everyone else is pulling 40-42 scfh, I'm only getting 32 scfh.

So out of curiosity, I bought a meter from WM that they use there just to see what it said on mine. Yep 31-32 scfh. I have replaced the venturi, the impeller, the motor....

So it isn't the skimmer, it isn't the meter..... that leaves altitude. Right now I'm about 20% than everyone else, and we have 20% less air. I say it is altitude.

So there never was any problem with the skimmer, and WM customer service is outstanding.
