Looks pretty good, especially at $120... I really like how they have an emergency connection on the collection cup to dump back into the tank. Very smart!!!

Do we know what type of pump they run, materials used, or even the actual size? It looked huge until his hand enter the scene...

they are 100% hand made acrylic (quoted from the video) and i dont have any idea about the pump.

the body of the skimmer on the 75h is 3 " wide and 19" tall

100% Hand Made Acrylic tells us nothing. :( Type of acrylic, and pump are the keys to longevity with skimmers...

This is bascially a copy of the asm mini-g in a hang on format with a bubble plate. it could easlily be modified to be an in sump version from what I can see. I might look into one of these but I will need specific dimensions like how long is it from the bottom of the pump to the top of the cup

how is it a copy of the asm mini-g if this one is a hob format with the addition of the bubble plate and relocation of the pump?

but all that aside it is 19" tall from bottom to top (pump to top of collection cup)

Asm changed the location of the pump to the bottom of the skimmer about a year ago. It really isnt anything that revolutionary. Really they just added a bubble plate. The ASM is like 20.5 inches from bottom too top.

just googled asm mini g skimmer and couldnt find where it was mounted to the bottom like this one, i saw that the location was near the bottom what wasnt the same style

maybe you could link me to show me where the pump setup is the same?

thats why i am asking about it... for me to use it, i would want it in my sump so it would need to be modified.. I have been waiting for ASM to change their design and add a bubble plate.

That is not the same design. That design has the pump out to the side of the skimmer. I can not fit that in my refugium. I designed my refuguim to use an asm mini, but they are still having problems with their pumps so i am looking for an alternitave.

I would be interested to see the specs on these things. If it is a small foot-print it may be suitable to hang on the side of the sump. Only time will tell if they are worth a crap.

This is probably what I am replacing my ASM mini with.....

I wish that would fit in my sump. The mini-g is all that will fit in there. I have an external in my near future.

louie from eshopps said he would chime in and give us some more details about this HOB skimmer, i like the fact that it is only 3 inches across.
