You want to get a retro or a fixture?

Either. I need two 36inch bulbs and the reflector can't be any larger than 5 inches

HelloLights $100 without lamps or $120 with lamps. 2" wide individual reflectors, endcaps, ballast, and power cords.

Option two... http://www.1000bulbs.com/Fulham-Ballast-Workhorse-5/ Fulham workhorse 5 ballast $25 (almost $35 shipped)

And find some of the UV lighting T-5s with internal reflectors. Ususally around $25 a lamp. And then some endcaps that will run you around $15 a pair. So about $100 here as well. The individual reflectors from the hello lights kit will be far more effective than the built in reflectors from the UV Lighting kits.

Option 3 the best output...

$250 This setup will put out easily 60% more light than the other two. But at $150 extra it may not be worth while if you are just setting up some supplementation lighting. For primary lighting this is the best option.

The bonus to option three is also that if you ever stop using that setup you will be able to recoup at least $100 when you resell it because of the Icecap. There really wont be much of a market for used versions of setups 1 & 2.

If over heating is your main issue you may want to look into buying a chiller. Then you won't have to compromise on your visual pleasure.
