The water in this town is pretty good everywhere. If you are planning to add corals at some time, it is recommended that you use RO/DI water anyway. It will remove all of the nasties and give pure clean water to start with. You can get it from the local fish shop or maybe someone living near you that has an RO unit will help you out.

Thanks for the reply. The tank is quite bad shape, lot of algae mostly that grow really fast and I assumed it's due to the water. I was thinking getting this https://airwaterice.com/reefkeepers-rodi/dual-home-reef-with-tank-faucet-for-under-the-sink.html but it I can hold off I'd rather spend the money on more important stuff. I'm in process of posting about my system and how I could "save" it.

That is a good unit. If you decide to buy that unit. Go to the air water &a ice pages in our sponsors forum. There is a code for, I think, 10% off. I started with the same size tank you have. You will be saving money vs buying RO water in about 9 months. That's not a bad payback when you consider you can also be using it for drinking water. As far as saving the tank... just keep pressing on and asking questions. We are here to help you succeed and enjoy the hobby. Not fight with problems. Do post details of your setup. Lighting, pumps, filter, pictures are always good. That will help us better understand you issues.

Did you send it in? What was the cost? I'd like to have the same test performed!
