Hi SCMAS clan,
Does anyone have a Digital Aquatics Reef Keeper SID V2 module I could borrow. I bought a used Reef Keeper Lite system online and am trying to upgrade it to the latest version I can. The SID that came with the system is the older rectangular kind. I expect that I would to borrow it for just a day or two. Picture of a SID V2 attached.

Reefkeeprs use RJ12 cables, should just be able to use one of those, find an rj12 to USB passthru thingy, good to go.

Well I looked I to the rj12 to usb and also the pin out configuration. It looks like it can vary a bit and one config doesn't even bring the +5v power thru. I also popped the top on my old v1 SID and it has a bit of circuitry to it. That itself discoraged me from making my own connector so I think I will just buy the DA v2 SID.

Charles,
Thanks for the idea. It was just a bit risky for me.

No worries, I used to have a sidv2, but I upgraded to the Digital Aquatics archon and its all done over the network or a USB drive now. Compatible with all the reefkeeper modules though, and just as functional as an apex at a lesser price ;). Love mine
