Excited about these newly installed Galaxyhydro LEDs. I didn't think the new wall mount would work, but it did perfectly. Thought I'd share with you amazing people!http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160716/3094bbcfffd4631f4dbf668ea4911949.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160716/7560e682a91f33766490121cda5883c1.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160716/d0ed80eb7a3b42ce7ab4676890bc6e6b.jpg[emoji1] [emoji2] [emoji4] [emoji6] [emoji7]

Those look great, good thinking! My only concern is that the lights are too close to the water.

I have a glass cover and the wall mount is extendable and retractable. So I can move them as needed. Thanks for the input.

Definitely raise them up as high as you can.

New to the hobby, want to give some insight on the pros and cons with having them too close and high. Any advice is much appreciated.

Salt creep is a thing. Too low and the lights will get covered in salt and you will lose light. To high and you won't have enough light. Yes the glass tips will help with the salt issue but.... It would be better to remove them. They can prevent proper gas exchange and will also reduce par. In short, ditch the glass, raise the lights.

The lights and tank look great. I'm excited to see where you take it.

Too much light and your corals will bleach.

That's the big one. These leds are very powerful (about 10x what freshwater gets)
Also, glass lids don't work as well in salt tanks.

I've programed the lights not to exceed 50 percent while on very monitored time schedule. The blues I keep at 100 for ay least six hours a day.

It has definitely crossed my mind but I've watched the coral growth and tank stability and it seems thriving with the lights. Will keep a close eye on it. Thanks for the input.

Which wall mount did you go with? I have some similarly shaped lights, and I'm debating wall vs. ceiling mounting them.

Sorry for the late reply but this one could be configured for wall or ceiling mount. Used a projector mount and fitted perfectly for these lights.
