Hello everyone! I'm a paramedic in Pueblo, and finishing a bachelor's degree in biology at CSUP. I grew up watching my dad take care of a freshwater community tank when he decided he was done with the hobby I picked it up replacing a broken glass pane in guess old tank and beginning my own journey. I was out of the hobby for about 5 years when I first got married, didn't have space our time. After the move to Pueblo I picked it up again with a 55gal community tank. My wife's preschool kids love it and I couldn't get enough if it!

I began doing research on DIY projects and exploring more advanced tanks with my wife's blessing and help I set-up a 55 gal corner tank with a few chiclid's. During our work together on this tank my wife caught the fever!

We are setting up a tank in almost every room of the house now including the kids bedrooms because you know they caught illness too!

All of the tanks I have done have been freshwater, gravel filtration, sponge filtration, DIY canister, HOB, and moving bed. I have been working on a planned tank most recently, until last week that is, when I acquired a reef setup for a great deal!

Now I'm working on finishing the planted tank, and being a saltwater reef adventure. I got a 75 gal bowfront, already drilled with a fuge/sump setup.

I will be needing help and guidance as I begin my saltwater adventure. I hope to be assist any way possible. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all as we promote this awesome hobby! http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160301/93073a10b4ef176b950c4f1ad23255bc.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160301/08ec2142a0df013f280549984634b01a.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160301/0e9bd7657a6c6340c3a88f58b041accc.jpg

I had been reading different forums trying to learn about how to reef tank. Then I had an idea to Google search for a Colorado reef community and found this club.

Welcome. One more here from Pueblo. I've only been in the hobby for about 15 months, but happy to help out however I can. I'm guessing you missed reefstock, but you should check out coloradocoralcon.com and head up to Springs on March, 26.

I'm interested to see what your alkalinity is. It looks like you are using concrete paver stones for your rock. I wonder if they give off lime into the water column increasing ph and alkalinity.
