Well, a stupid move landed me and my family in the hospital at around 2:00 a.m.. my wife and daughter were released with steroids and antibiotics and they are keeping me at least overnight. I had a fever of 107, wife @102 and daughter at 101.

Last night, I decided to get some rocks out of my 80g that had nuclear holocaust palys growing on it. In my head I thought I read that you could boil them off. I didn't boil them (luckily) but I did put them in the sink with hot water. Hindsight, what I read was NOT to boil such things.

Our dogs were even very sick with labored breathing and vomitting. I am in the hospital with a tight chest, fever has subsided for now, very labored breathing, headache and achy body.

Please....do not make the same mistake that I did. I feel horrible for putting my families health and lives in jeopardy, and also feel like an incredible idiot.

It's too easy to get complacent in this hobby. You would never guess that something so beautiful could be potentially so deadly.

Glad you are OK, Cody, and family. I put them outside in the freezing cold and then brush off.

Thanks everyone, for your kind words. Wife, daughter, and dogs are doing fine. They haven't released me yet because on top of the palytoxin poisoning, I have severe bronchitis and coughing up blood. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Let me know if you need anything. Seems like the palytoxin should take out whatever is causing the bronchitis, so you should be good to go soon.
