Well I broke my ASM Skimmer about 5 minutes ago, and I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a new skimmer. I am stuck between the Bubble Magus Curve 5 and Reef Octopus Classic 160... I am wanting a skimmer with the pump inside of the housing to save space and I really like having a gate valve, skimmer needs to be able to handle 150 gallons (that's about twice the amount of water I have). I am open to other skimmers as well guys so any other options or opinions are greatly appreciated, and I will look into them.

My little guy decided to take it off the counter as I was cleaning the pump, and dropped it so the housing is broke..

Look into the Aqua medic skimmers. Evo cone 1.0 with dc variable pump is rated up to 200 gallons and has a super small footprint. Text me for pricing. Amazing pump for anyone who's seen it. I'll be upgrading from my 4' skimmer to a evo cone 1.5 here shortly.

It is an impressive cone skimmer for sure

I had the SWC180 cone and now have a BM curve 7. The 7 is a nice skimmer, consistent & easy to clean. The SWC pulled more gunk but was a PITA with the start up issue. The only thing I don't like about the 7 is the adjustment knob doesn't seem to do anything and I can't find a manual online.

SWC was an issue with the old Sicce pumps they used, the new pumps do not have this issue. I love my huge SWC skimmer with the new sicce psk 1000 pumps.

I have the SWC 230 and it uses an Askoll Laguna pump and impeller. Never had issues with it starting. Sensitive to water level though.
