My aquaclear 2000 crapped out and now I'm looking for some advice on a new ATO pump I have a 60 gallon cube and a 8 gallon ATO tank.

You can pick up a powerhead pump pretty cheap at Valley. He's got a bunch of used.

Sorry. Typo. Valley pets is in fountain. Lots of people have nothing good to say about them but they horde equipment and always have plenty on hand.

That pump locks up sometimes. Bang it gently on a towel on the floor and I bet it starts working again.

It just makes a humming noise and won't kick on anymore even after bumping it.

Sounds like the magnet possibly separated from the impeller. Would check it out and if that's the case, superglue is your friend

The magnet does come off of the impeller. I take it its not supposed to. That's good to know. I will try superglue as soon as I get home. Thank you.
