Hi everyone, new to saltwater, refurbished a 120 gal/20gal sump tank. Thanks jim g from petco for showing me this community. I'll post some pics of my setup in a little bit.

Little about myself, I have been in the US Navy for 7 1/2 years and got stationed in the springs a few months back. I'm loving this hobby so far and have invested quite a it of cash into it already.

I am looking for some bubble nems and some cool frags to add to my tank if anyone is looking to get rid of any ;)

Thanks, yah a lot of work went into cleaning and re finishing the base and lights, had to sand the entire thing down, replace the particle board and plywood base with solid wood, painted it with a outdoor waterproof paint, sealed the joints with silicone, added a secondary compartment that is sealed off from the sump for my cabling and power adapters, had to solder in new LEDs into the light fixture since it was all rusted out, and re did all of the plumbing........ and a few other things..... go big or go home right? So much for a starter tank

Welcome aboard, Im retired Marine Corps and the wife is retired Navy. We just moved here back in Aug. Good froup of guys and girls here. Your tank looks great, just remember with this expensive hobby parience is key. Always wait for your tank to be mature before adding things like nems. Id wait atleast 6 months before adding an anemone.

Kyle, what's the thought behind the horizontal cuts in the pipe on the left? Does it help with bubbles from the overflow?

My old wet/dry was cut this way as well joe, the dissipated smaller bubbles seems to keep a constant churning of the detritus/food particles in the first chamber which aids in the filtration over the wet/dry chamber. It also helped with noise reduction. I'd like to know if there are more reasons for it as well

Yah that's the way it was cut when I got it so I left it that way, good question though
