I decided i'm not going to sell the 34 Solana anymore. Ive been helped by so many of you guys and gals over the years, I decided this is the time I can give a little back. So its now free to a good home, only catch is you cant ever sell it, I would like for it to always be a pay it forward tank. I live in Canon City But I will be in CO Springs this Friday, So can meet you somewhere to drop it off...

It would be an easy setup for a classroom and all in one.

so setting it up and breaking it down for each school season? Or going in daily during summer break to maint tank? I would think a 12g eclipse tank that is light and easy to maintain with a pair of clownfish in it would be the best tank for a classroom tank.

In the 2 years I have been on the forums I have seen so many classroom tanks that the end result is a fire sale because its the end of the school season and they need to get rid of stuff immediately. This doesn't just happen on SCMAS it happens on MASC and on CL as well every single year. I am not a fan of classroom tanks for this exact reason. This is a great excuse for field trips to the Denver aquarium in place of a tank for biology or science teachers.

What subject do you teach Coach?

I only live a few blocks from the school so my plan is to keep it running during the summer.

Nice! Every teacher I know always finds a way to work 10 more hours a day than what they are paid to work.

A tank should be a nice addition. I know my autistic brother always loves coming to my house to see the fish.

Wow, I think a tank that big would need to be approved by my principal.
I am very excited to get this going in my class. It will benefit the kids in so many ways. Knowing where the majority of my students come from, for many, this will be the only exposure they have to a saltwater aquarium

Hey Coach! I have a 360 in my science classroom. If you have any questions let me know. I don't go in daily over breaks but a lot of the tank is automated and I'm in good with the custodian so he does daily feedings over breaks. I usually go in once a week unless I'm out of town. I'm working on getting an Apex so I can monitor more closely but so far no luck.

I have Heather from CAS working on Neptunes but I'm looking at reaching out myself and trying another option called donors choose which is a nonprofit that helps organize donations for teachers.

That was something I was going to suggest you do Coach. Is get in touch with Heather as she can help to get donations to help support your classroom aquarium.

Great. Thanks for the information. I'll have to train the janitor in the upkeep. Is your a full reef or fowlr?
