Hello everyone! I'm very new to the forum and fairly new to CO. I met some of you at MACNA this weekend and it was great news to hear that there was a great club in the area. Just wanted to drop in a say a little about myself and tell you all hello.

Fairly new to the marine aquarium hobby (~4 years). I spent most of it in Hawai'i where its pretty much just a FOWLR type of crowd out there since just about anything/everything you can think of is illegal. Now that we are here in CO and finally into our new home, it's time to startup a new tank.

Extremely grateful for the help I got from Brian (missing the last name, but they won the SR-120) loading up all the gear I picked up at MACNA this year...was a steal. Got the IM 30L, stand, IM MiniMax, IM Ghost, Cobalt heater, and about 66 gallons of their unused Carib Sea seawater...$360 :drool5:...can't wait to get it all up and running.

So what do you all think about two Hydra 26s over the 30L? Oh...and to Brian if you see this, they gave me a Custom Caddy thinking it was for my 30L but its for an SR, hit me up if you want it for your new tank.

And I have the caddys for your tank. Three of them as a matter of fact.

How much do you want for them, I'd be interested in one or two for Sonia's 30l fusion

I didn't think about that. I don't want anything for them. I am not sure if Lakaikea has any or not. I think they put his under my tank but there will be one left over either way I think.

If they tossed them in with your SR120 them I probably got yours in my 30L...I can bring it to you this evening and help move that tank

What is the length on a 30L? I run one hydra 52 over my 50 breeder that is 36" and it covers it perfectly.

I will be there to help move the tank as well

@JimG, it's 35.5 inches. I'm assuming you have your 52 parralel with the length of the tank. How many inches of the water to get full coverage? I thought maybe two 26s perpendicular would have awesome coverage and wouldn't have to be too high... what are yall's thoughts?

Yes I do have mine running parallel to the length, my tank is 36" and it is mounted 15" off of the top of the water. 2 of the 26 fixtures would have great coverage, but in my opinion there is no need to spend the extra $200 when you can go with one 52. That is if my memory of the price for the 25 is correct... I have my fixture dialed back and getting great results in the bottom corners of my system, even with sps.

By the way I'm new in town as well! Welcome!

Awesome! Thanks for the info Jim. How far back do you have yours dialed?

White: 20%
Violet: 50%
Red: 15%
Green: 20%
Deep blue: 75%
Royal blue: 75%
UV: 15%

All of those specs are at the peak of my photo period. Still fine tuning them to my taste right now. The violet, red, green, and uv are at AI's recommended levels for the tank, but they say 40% is where they usually keep the whites. I like a bluer spectrum for my tank so I flipped the settings to favor the blues instead of the white.

Check out the new AI Prime. They had 2 of then about 12" off the waters surface and covering 30" length with amazing results. Only 199 and wireless so no need for director. I think wife and I are going to do 3 of them on her nuvo 30L

Not sure yet. As far as additional equip...possibly a small CPR Aquafuge 2 as a mini display fuge on the side. Lights. ..probably the AI primes once avail. Still debating substrate vs barebottom and a neptune apex.

Might want to wait till Fragtoberfest. I spoke with CPR president and he is excited to donate to Fragtoberfest raffle.
