They are nice and I would supplement with LED to really color the corals up but nothing tops growth than natural light on a lunar cycle.

Really too far north for the solar tubes, when it comes to winter time. San Antonio is about as far north as you want to go with them. You could, however, supplement, if you decided to do this. I researched them about 7 years ago.

Still a cool idea. We still get plenty of sun. Even if it were just the summer lights, that would cut the ambient temp down in my fish room. I've personally installed solar tubes and can tell you glutathione hand that you don't want to look directly at one. Is there something else I'm missing? Would it not get the 10,000k color? Still new here but very optimistic :)

Sunlight is 6500K so you would have to supplement to get 10K.
