That would have to be the largest aiptasia I have ever seen. And it doesn't quite visually resemble them... Aiptasia is more stringy and brown from my research

Do a image search and you'll see aiptasia way bigger then what's pictured, my friend use to let the aiptasia live in his overflow and when given the opportunity they can get huge

Probably, some peppermint shrimp eat them, it can be hit or miss but I got some peppermint shrimp from bush and they ate the few I had in my nano

That looks like a variation of a tube nem, I wouldn't kill it if you have a qt so you can watch it and see what it does. If we killed everything we didn't know what it was we wouldn't have lemon drop nems and lightning maroon clowns.

I know what the "normal" Aptasia looks like, and this seems different so it confused me. Currently it's in our new tank that's cycling. There's nothing else in the tank now, and we're still building a light system so I'm not in a hurry to add critters so it can stay there and I can keep an eye on it. Still can't decide if it's good or bad, and if it's bad how to get rid of it.

Thanks for a the feedback, I'm still confused though :-/

If it looks green under actinics it would be a mojano. They actually look pretty cool. If not then it's aptaisia. Kill kill kill. If it isn't something you are sure you want in your tank, remove it while it's isolated.
