I'm new to the forums. Thanks for letting me join. I'm relatively inexperienced. My parents had saltwater tanks when I saw growing up, so I am familiar with the attention that a setup demands.
Right now I'm starting out with a pretty basic 30 gallon reef tank. I am using some Fiji rock and sand. I will be looking for some small corals that are good for beginners if anyone can advise me from their own experiences. I'm in the pueblo south side area. Looking to start cheap and build experience before investing in higher priced creatures. Thanks guys

If you are in pueblo and have some beginner items for sale drop me a line

That would be awesome. I'm free after Wednesday. I'm thinking about going to the coral expo they are having in Lakewood on April 12

I will take some pics soon. I'm waiting on sand clouded water to settle. Currently my tank is live and and live rock. Nothing else. It's at the beginning of its life

Welcome Josh, good to have you on board.

Sounds like you are just starting up the system. Did you use live rock from another system, or was it dry? Give your system time to grow cycle properly. There are several threads about this process and you will find loads of information about processes that worked and some that didn't. First and most important, take your time.

Looking forward to meeting you.

Yes :) tank is cycling now. I used rock purchased from pet paradise here in pueblo. Fiji and one bigger purple. I am using pink sand. Its clearing up pretty good.
