trying to get my goosenecks mounted and the aluminum bracket that attaches to the tank looks like it might have to be partially submerged. so the question is, is that ok? I will try and get some pics up here in a min

Plastic or alum? Alum should be OK. Steel rust.

the bolts are plastic but the actual mount is hard anodized aluminum
