I am holding my consulting company's feet to the fire and telling them I need them to buy me a skimmer. I told them it would be an incentive to continue working for them. Lol. Please help me choose from these. Any personal experience would be helpful.

Really liking that you can control the pump speed and air intake via the controller on that first skimmer you listed, these high end skimmers are pretty fancy. What size tank are you putting this on ? What skimmer are you currently using ?

I was wondering when you'd chime in. lol. I haven't yet. It has to be built. I am moving August 1st and so I am having it built in place at the new house. I'm just trying to work out the logistics of placing it with the wifey. I need to build a wall, she doesn't agree. She's not understanding the concept of a fish room taking up 190 square feet of floor space. She said, "Have the tank built and we'll see where we will put it." sigh

She's cool with the look. She just doesn't want to take up the space. We did the walkhrough Wednesday and she already knows where she wants everything. SO, it's messing with her floorplan. I just need to take the time to convince her I need to put up that wall. She'll be cool. Especially if it gets built in the middle of the floor, she will want to hide it with a footprint that big. I'm going for the 4 foot depth so it will take up all the space anyway. :)

Where is the new house at?

Flying Horse. She says we're downsizing but it's costing me more money. I'll be glad to get away from the golf course though, honestly.

Yeah, it's a beautiful course. The realtor took me to lunch at the Flying Horse club trying to get me to buy a $35k membership. I laughed in his face and told him he was courting the wrong guy. I don't like golf that much. The lunch was delicious though. Lol

Ok, it looks like their down to these 2 choices. SKIMZ-SM-251 versus Reef Octopus 6000SSS. Has anyone had any experience with either of these?

That looks like a freaking cold-fusion reactor man. They've already cut the PO for the Skimz for me. From the videos, they are very efficient.
