Any ideas on how to connect hoses in your sump and anywhere else with out using stainless steel hose clamps. These things start to rust so quickly. I don't want to make everything PVC or hard plumbed. any ideas on what product or methods I should use.

They do make plastic clamps but they don't really tighten that well. I know it sucks but just keep replacing them every once in a while

I get the heavy duty hose clamps from NAPA. They are some kind of plastic composit and last a good while, as long as you are not putting them off and on all the time.

If you want the plastic clamps like they sell on bulk reef supply, I have several. Depends on the size you need. They are the black plastic removable ones that have teeth like a zip tie. Mine seem to be holding very well.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I think I will get a few from NAPA and when I order my new protein skimmer from bulk reef I will get some clamps from them too. I will let you know how my tests go. :)
