Have you tried a green laser? I seen a guy laser one and it killed it at reef stock

Chad, Doyle has a blue laser that kills them. How many do you have?

not sure what your coral stock looks like but there are numerous butterfly fish out there to smoke those guys out. The main problem with aptasia is that they can grow in almost any environment to include low light and low flow (like the back of your tank and in crevices that a laser will not be able to reach.)
Other options:
Sell the pepermints that you bought and buy some more
long nose butterfly (Keep in mind that you are jepordizing some corals)
Laser every few months.
Aptasia X every few months.
file fish (Also none to nip at play's/zoa's)

Every one has different experiences. These are the most common Unfortunately the only 100% option is to take out your rock and let it all die and start back over. However I have seen these lasers in action and they are sweet.

It seems like everyday I find 10 New ones. They grew into some frags. I am thinking of taking rock out to dry out.

Hey Chad,
April's tank once turned into an aiptasia jungle. We bought a kleins butterfly. He took care of them in about two weeks. Never saw another one.
We can try my laser but with that many it would be difficult to gain control.

I have them growing in my overflows and they are covered. I only get rid of the ones in my DT.

+1 on the overflows. I get the ones I see in the DT and if I can't reach them, oh well. Not destroying the tank to get them. Lol

So I have tried pepermints, filefish and Klein's. All in my tank now and not one aptasia is gone. I'm at my breaking point!

My experience is that if you feed these critters, they wont eat the aiptasia. try cutting down on your feeding to every other day.

would you like to try them in mine? :)

I have a few aptasia in my nano tank and would like to wittle them down. i am just surprised that they continue to grow. I haven't fed that tank in months other than some chunks of silversides to the nems.

I had a bad problem with aiptasia in the past, I made a zapper with a old cell phone charger and $5 in parts from Home Depot, it took a couple of days of using the zapper and kalk paste but it worked great, the aiptasia were gone and the spores did not spread thru out the tank. I also had luck with taking the rock out a piece at a time and frying them with a torch but that was a little messy.
